What we collect

When you order a table, we collect your name, email address, phone number, delivery address and the details of what you ordered. Payment is handled by Shopify Payments or PayPal; we see that you have paid and the last four digits of the card, never the full card number.

When you send us an enquiry through the website, by email or from your order page, we keep the message and the details you give us with it.

When you use the track-your-order page, we keep what you write to us there so that the person answering has the whole conversation in front of them.

When you browse the site, Shopify and the analytics and advertising tools we use set cookies, which record things like the pages you look at and whether you arrived from one of our adverts. You can refuse the non-essential ones using the cookie banner, and the site works without them.

Why we hold it, and the legal basis

To make and deliver your table and to keep you told about it along the way: your name, contact details, address and order details. This is necessary to carry out our contract with you.

To answer your enquiries and look after you after delivery: your messages and contact details. This is our legitimate interest in running the business properly, and yours in getting a reply.

To keep accounts and pay the right tax: order and payment records. This is a legal obligation.

To send you occasional news from the workshop by email: only if you have ticked the box, and you can untick it at any time using the link in any email. This is consent.

To understand how the website is used and to measure our advertising: cookie data, with your consent through the banner.

Who sees it

Our own team, who make the tables, drive the van and answer the emails. The workshops that make parts of your table get the specification of what to make and your order number, not your contact details. Shopify (which runs our shop), Shopify Payments and PayPal (which take payment), our email provider (which sends and receives our messages), and our accountants see what they need to do their jobs and nothing more. Google, Meta and Pinterest receive cookie data if you have consented to it, so that we can measure our adverts. We never sell your details and we never pass them to anyone for their own marketing.

We use software, including AI tools, to help us keep track of orders and to draft replies to messages. A person reads every reply before it is sent, and nothing about you is used to train anyone's AI.

Where it is kept

Your order and conversation records are kept on our own systems in the UK and on Shopify's servers. Shopify and some of the tools above store data outside the UK; where they do, they are bound by the UK's standard contractual safeguards for international transfers.

How long we keep it

Order and payment records for six years after the end of the tax year they fall in, because HMRC requires it. Messages and order conversations for as long as you are a customer and two years after your last order, so we can help with your table if something comes up. Marketing consent until you withdraw it. Cookie data for the periods set out in the cookie banner.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it (we will, unless we have to keep it for tax or legal reasons), ask us to stop using it for marketing, and ask us to send it to you in a form you can take elsewhere. Write to [email] and we will reply within a month, usually much sooner. If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Security

Our systems are password-protected and kept up to date, payment details never touch our own systems, and only the people who need your details to do their job can see them. No system is perfect; if we ever discover a breach that affects you, we will tell you.

Children

Our tables are sold to adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Anything significant, we will tell you by email.
